About
Columbia Interactive is a gateway to selected electronic learning resources developed at Columbia University. Browse our database of digital resources, including faculty interviews, learning tools, semester-length e-courses, and more than 100 shorter e-seminars. The e-seminars are free to Columbia students, faculty, and staff, and are available to the public through fee-based and licensing arrangements.

Columbia Interactive was developed and is maintained by Columbia University Digital Knowledge Ventures (Columbia DKV)—a service unit responsible for developing and distributing digital resources that extend the University's teaching and research beyond its classrooms and campuses.

Columbia University is home to many organizations and research centers that participate in the design, development, and distribution of online learning resources across the disciplines. The Columbia homepage is the central gateway for information about all aspects of Columbia University. Browse or search for details about academic programs and resources, as well as campus life, news and events, administration, facilities, and services. You can also visit the homepages of Columbia's new media groups, listed below, to find out more about their missions and how to work with them.

The Columbia Center for New Media Teaching and Learning (CCNMTL) is a service of Columbia University whose goal is to enhance teaching and learning through the purposeful use of new media. CCNMTL forms partnerships with faculty, providing them with as much support as they need in everything from the construction of course Web sites to the development of more advanced digital projects, such as multimedia study environments, field or laboratory solutions, and simulations.

The Electronic Publishing Initiative at Columbia (EPIC) is a collaborative center under the auspices of the Columbia Libraries and involving Columbia University Press and the University's department of Academic Information Systems. EPIC's mission is to create new kinds of scholarly and educational publications through the use of new-media technologies in an integrated research-and-production environment.

The Web Development Studio provides Web site development services to the Columbia Health Sciences community and beyond. Web development services include: graphic design; coding and programming; and hosting and maintenance. The studio team includes experienced Web designers, programmers, and production specialists—experts at creating high-quality Web sites to meet the specific needs of the Health Sciences community.

Visual Media Center (VMC) explores material culture, vision, media, and pedagogy in the broadest sense to connect faculty research and student learning through the creative application of technology. The chief objective of the VMC is to examine and extend the ways of interpreting images, objects, buildings, and sites and to reinforce Columbia's historic strengths in core education for undergraduate students, graduate student training, and faculty research.
