Schoenberg and Modernism

Guiding your learning experience is Ian Bent, Anne Parsons Bender Professor of Music at Columbia University in New York City. By taking this e-seminar, you will be immersed in the world of Arnold Schoenberg—the man, the musician, and the painter. Using the example of one of the seminal works of twentieth-century music, Pierrot lunaire, you will come to understand and appreciate Schoenbergs genius and his place in the Modernist movement.
